Chico Electric is looking for a Project Manager to join our team. 

We are a locally based electrical contractor with almost 60 years in business.  Our customers and projects include residential, commercial, industrial, and agricultural.  Our focus and purpose is to Exceptionally Serve Our Customers.

Project Manager Position Summary/Interdependencies:

Project Managers are responsible to ensure project deliverables are delivered on time and on budget. However, a project managers largest responsibility is to manage customer expectations. Project Managers are expected to be able to walk a project from inception to close out. This includes defining the project scope, putting together budgets, executing the project, and closing out the project. Project Managers are responsible for the success and profitability for each project they are assigned.

  • Understanding of the construction process
  • Excellent verbal and oral communication skills
  • Competency in Microsoft Suite
  • Specifically word and excel
  • Electrical Estimating
  • Project Billing
  • Ability to negotiate and develop project scope
  • Understanding of Contract Law
  • Ability to price and negotiate change orders
  • Ability to develop project budgets and schedules of values
  • Understand and manage project scope
  • Allocate resources on a company-wide level
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Coordinate multiple trades on projects
  • Conduct yourself in a professional manner
  • Generator experience is a plus.

Essential Job Requirements:

Driving:  Current, valid Driver License for State where you will drive, meet company auto insurance qualifications 

TravelOccasional extended out of town work is required

Experience:  Electrical/Construction background helpful; Minimum of 5 years experience in a leadership position, 10+ years increasingly responsible operations and management including budget preparation and cost control

Required skills:  Strong written, oral, interpersonal, communication, and problem solving skills; Computer skills – Windows, Word, Outlook, Excel; Coaching, initiative, and leadership skills; Demonstrated leadership skills in creating a team oriented culture

Physical RequirementsAbility to sit at desk and computer; Ability to use computer; Bending, Reaching, Traveling around the office for meetings, including up and down stairs; Communication with others; Office machine usage; Ability to visit job sites which includes walking on uneven terrain, climbing ladders, working at heights, lifting up to 50 lbs, pushing, pulling, balancing, walking on roofs and other structures; Drive company vehicles.
